One of the topics that my audience really wanted to learn more about was managing teams. Here are three things you need to do right now in order to get better outcomes from your team: Be Explicit: Your team members don’t want to let you down. As I say, everyone wants an A. Be sure that you are crystal clear on your expectations and timelines.
Monitor: What isn’t monitored isn’t done. You just monitor whatever you ask them to do. If at the end of the day the person didn’t come through the way you wanted them to and you didn’t monitor them then you can look no farther than the mirror to see one of the reasons.
Be Authentic: Show your people who you are. Don’t tell them you are one way and then act completely differently. Show them what you value, that you lead by example, and develop meaningful relationships with them.
