How To Successfully Give Critical and Directive Feedback to a Team Member


Big conversations tend to give us butterflies. This is because we are prematurely worried about what the other person will have to say in response.


As leaders, we must learn to move past those butterflies and get on with it. The easiest, most effective way to successfully do this is:


  1. Be specific

  2. Be honest

  3. Be transparent

  4. Be kind

Be true to yourself, follow those four steps, and your feedback conversation should go very well.
