No one is perfect. None of us have all of the answers, and in case you didn't know no one expects us to - except ourselves.
Leaders often hold themselves to impossible standards. They feel that they need to know all, be all, and see all. They try not to show their vulnerability, and many have trouble with the occasional mea culpa. Guess what? No one is omniscient or omnipresent. We are human beings and are not infallible.
If you are going to be a successful superintendent, you are going to have to accept that you will make a lot of decisions, and not every one of them will produce the outcome you were hoping for and that's okay.
Learning from mistakes is part of a highly effective leader's growth process!
